Costumes, candy, coffee stops and a little after-dark mystery—here’s how to enjoy Halloween in Loudonville and Mohican this week.
Updated October 28, 2026. All times Eastern.
Some Halloween plans need elaborate costumes and weeks of preparation. This one starts with a visit to downtown Loudonville. On Saturday, October 31, the community’s parade and trick-or-treat celebrations bring the afternoon and evening together. Bring the candy bags, make room for a warm drink, and leave a little time to enjoy Mohican.
Your Halloween afternoon, at a glance
- 3:30 p.m.: Parade lineup beside Budd School Auditorium on South Wood Street.
- 4 p.m.: The parade begins, followed immediately by costume judging in the Park National Bank parking lot.
- 5–6 p.m.: Downtown business trick-or-treat.
- 6–7 p.m.: Residential trick-or-treat.
The Loudonville Mohican Chamber’s official schedule describes the route as Budd School, along Main Street, ending at the Street Fair building on North Water Street. Arrive early, bring a layer and keep children close at crossings.

Want to participate?
Ask the Chamber about parade entry requirements and any remaining deadlines: 419-994-4789 or chamber@loudonvillechamber.com. Its public listing does not give a 2026 entry deadline.
Make room for a coffee stop
A little downtown time makes the afternoon feel like an outing rather than a dash between events. Stela’s Ice Cream Shoppe & Coffee House, at 211 West Main Street, is a local option for coffee, tea and ice cream. For a meal, Black Fork Bistro at 153 West Main Street lists burgers, salads, pizza and pasta. Find both in the Chamber’s food and dining directory.
City Sips Coffee Co. is mobile, so check its current schedule rather than assuming a downtown location. These are local suggestions, not confirmed Halloween promotions. Check directly for Saturday hours, locations and any seasonal specials before heading out.
After dark: a little castle mystery
For a different sort of Halloween evening, Landoll’s Mohican Castle offers its Ghost Walk and Haunted History Tour. The official booking calendar lists Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, at 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., with tickets advertised at $29.99 per person.
The castle is at 561 Township Road 3352, Loudonville. Check in 15 minutes early at The Crown & Cauldron Mercantile behind The Copper Mug Grille, following the venue’s directions. Review the tour description for suitability for young children, and check the booking page for current availability. A listed session does not guarantee remaining tickets.
Save a little daylight for Mohican
If your weekend leaves room for fresh air, consider the covered bridge or a suitable short walk at Mohican State Park. Check current park conditions before setting out, choose a route that suits your group, and wear shoes that can handle wet leaves.
Whether you’re coming for the parade or making a weekend of it, keep the plan simple: a little exploring, something good to eat and time together in Loudonville. Recheck organizer updates before leaving—event details and business hours can change.
